St. Louis' Bottoms Up Blues Gang balance
standards like "Mystery Train, "Ain't Nobody's
Business," and "Just A Little Bit"
with their own songs - a jaunty "Meet Me Out
Back," the wobbly but true-to-life "First
Time Blues." Adam Andrews' busy harmonica and
Jeremy Segel-Moss' lightly amplified guitar provide
the foundation for the vocals of Kari Liston, whose
pinched delivery gives her a vintage sound that suits
the Gang's approach on South Broadway Blues.

"Just wanted to thank you guys for putting on
such a good show last night. It was beautiful (the
weather, the music, everything) and we truly apprecieate
your efforts on Playback's behalf. An added bonus
was seeing all the cool and caring people that surround
you. You truly have a community atmosphere where people
take care of each other and that is what both Laura
and I want to see spread around more in St. Louis.
Thanks for helping us to achieve that." --
Jim & Laura from Playback St. Louis
"Just wanted to drop by and congratulate the
band for hanging in there for a full year. Keep up
the good work. As you know, it's a rough business,
but as long as you work at it, and love it, you'll
continue to be a success! Good luck with all of your
future projects!" --Matt
Murdick
"I
have many comments, however we don't enough space
to write 'em all. Also, I think they are one of the
hottest acoustic new blues aggregations to arrive
on the scene. I think they have a great sense of performing
the music of their genre because they have the ability
to use the knowledge given to them by a great many
established musicians of that genre and they also
know how to keep it simple and straight ahead. Simplicity,
that's the lick." --Eric
McSpadden
"What
can i say, if you want stage presence, energy, good
music and atmosphere you have to come see this band.
They are one of the only bands i know who got together,
performed, continually got better and is now making
a cd all within one year of knowing one another. As
individual musicians they strive to be the best and
succeed but as a band it seems to come natually to
them and you can feel that when you come see them.
They've brought a new feel to an entire scene and
I love it!" --Jme Schmidt
"I
enjoy the energy in which they play with. It seems
like they really want to learn and put on a good show."
--Brian Creele
