The
Bottoms Up Blues Gang is St. Louis' Acoustic Blues Trio featuring
vocalist Kari Liston, guitarist Jeremy Segel-Moss and a gang of outstanding
St. Louis musicians. The Bottoms Up Blues Gang play a unique blend of originals and covers in the styles of Delta Blues, R & B, Soul, Jazz, and Blues influenced Rock & Roll. Major influences include a wide range of artists, including Muddy Waters, Bessie Smith, Jimmy Reed, Louie Jordan, Ani DiFranco, Bonnie Raitt, Willie Dixon and many more. The BUBG are also heavily influenced by local artists such as; Bennie Smith, Sharon Foehner, Brian Curran, Matt Murdick, Eric McSpadden and the real sounds of St. Louis music that seem to ooze out of every corner bar in the City. During the last year the Bottoms Up Blues Gang has performed in many of the area's top venues, including the B.B.'s Jazz, Blues & Soups, the Broadway Oyster Bar, Blueberry Hill, the Venice Cafe, Pop's Blue Moon, Riddles Cafe, Mangia Italiano and many more. They were also featured at the 2002 Big Muddy Blues Festival and the 2002 Buck Dance Blues Festival. The BUBG have also performed with some of St. Louis' finest musicians, such as Bennie Smith and the Urban Express, Brian Curran, Mojo Syndrome, the Soulard Blues Band, Marsville, and Kim Massie. The Bottoms Up Blues Gang is especially conscious about the importance of continuing the tradition of St. Louis music while trying to define a unique style of their own.
